Great performer ... not good as dvd instructor ... needs to break down moves for the beginners ...

Agreed

This is a good DVD to watch but might not be worth the money. It has good information but like others have said it doesn't break things down and moves a little fast. I want to try some other DVDs but maybe in person instruction is worth the money over buying DVDs as well.

Fawnia should make a new DVD.

I love fawnia! But...The DVD is outdated and I think she doesn't break things down as well as she could. So while she is an amazing dancer, I think there are better DVD out there that I would recommend above this one.

Unfortunately I have to agree with all the other comments ... she is a great performer but lacks in the teaching dept (on dvd any way-maybe better in person)

I agree with the comment below - a bit outdated, but still a great DVD for beginner's and incorporating safety, grace and poise to moves still used in the industry today =)

Not the best but does help
by: Alyssa

This was the first exposure to a pole dvd I ever had. So it was good and informative in that sense, however I felt that it was outdated. I also noticed that she gives you different spins and moves but doesn't really give any information as to how to develop and link together different moves. However, it was a decent dvd for my beginner self.

Not the best
by: sylvana

This was one of the first DVDs I bought. I only used it once because I didn't like the flow of it. She is a good dancer but not a very good instructor. I definitely prefer Jamilla's series and the studioveena website.

Outdated

While Fawnia was one of the originators of pole for fitness I wouldn't recommend this DVD mainly because it is older and sort of outdated.

fawnia's pole work dvd
by: tara

this was the first pole dvd i ever owned. fawnia does a great job of teaching some basic pole work. this is a good choice for beginners or those completely new to pole. others may find it not so helpful.

not the best
by: Gevenny

I watched this dvd only because it was available on netflix. her style of dance seemed very old fashioned but some moves in there were interesting. at least some of them were original, not like all the moves that we constantly see on youtube. there aren't a lot of upside down tricks but then she jumps right into doing handsprings which are very advanced. anyways, it was good to see something different but i felt like there wasn't much there.

Fawnia vs. Jamilla
by: Mulan

Fawnia was one of the first to create a training program for pole dancers and I'm proud that such an accomplished and strong pole dancer is Canadian... but my preference is still The Art of Pole - Jamilla Deville.

i didn't buy this but it was a loan to me and i was fast to send it back, i have been pole dancing for 4 months now, self tought, and to anyone looking to pole dance from a video and not a class like me, i can make a video better then this one, and have made just for beginners, everything i know i got from youtube, and i am already moving past moves such as the descending angel, scorpion, and extended butterfly, and so on to harder moves! do not waste money on videos, just study youtube videos and you can learn alot! there are even ladies that have videos with step by step on inverts and spins! so save your money, and use youtube! good luck!

She is a very successful, and talented dancer, but the video feels really outdated, and there isn't really any music throughout the entire DVD (she admits that she couldn't get any rights to popular songs.

The moves she teaches are "okay", but she never tells you how to really put them all together and make them flow.

I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not for the beginner!
by: Amanda

I am a beginner and got this DVD in hopes of learning some basics. I was extremely disappointed. First off, the DVD jumps right into doing the fireman move. It doesn't help you figure out your footing or how to really use your body to get the move down. That was the only beginner move offered too.
